Black Pepper Okra

A very simple recipe with only 3 spices

Ingredients
  

  • 2 tbsp Cooking Oil
  • 1 lb Okra
  • 1 medium Onion (~8oz)
  • 1 Roma Tomato (~4 oz)
  • 1 tsp Ground Black Pepper
  • ½ tsp Turmeric
  • ½ tsp Salt
  • ½ cup Water

Instructions
 

  • Wash the okra and cut off the stem and tip, and cut in 3 or 4 pieces. Slice the onions. Dice the tomato into large pieces

  • Heat oil in a pot and add onions. Fry on medium high for 5 mins

  • Add the okra and fry for 5 mins
  • Add the black pepper, salt and turmeric and stir for 1 min
  • Add the tomato and water
  • Mix, bring to boil. Cover and set to low for 20 mins. Stir occasionally
  • Okra will be ready to serve
