Ingredients
  

  • 2 lb Cod or other firm fish cut into 2 inch pieces
  • 1 tsp garlic paste
  • 3 tbsp Lemon Juice
  • ¾ tsp Salt

Whole Spices

  • 3 tbsp Whole Coriander Seeds
  • 2 tbsp Ajwain seeds (caraway seeds)
  • tbsp Cumin Seeds

Other Spices

  • tbsp Kasuri Methi (Fenugreek Leaves)
  • 1 tbsp Red Chili Flakes
  • 1 tsp Kashmiri Chili Powder
  • ½ tsp Turmeric

Fry Coating

  • 1 tbsp Besan (Gram Flour) heap
  • 1 tbsp Bread Crumbs heap

Instructions
 

  • Roast the whole spices in an oven toaster for 2 mins. Be careful not to burn
  • Add the roasted spices in a spice grinder. Grind for 4 seconds
  • Add other spices to a bowl
  • Mix the grinded spices and other spices in the bowl
  • Cut the fish into 2 inch pieces and pat dry. Add the fish to a mixing bowl. Add salt, lemon juice and garlic paste
  • Add the spice bowl and mix. Let it marinate for 20 mins
  • Add the fry coating (besan and bread crumbs) and mix
  • Heat a skillet with ¼ cup of oil for frying. Keep it at medium once hot
  • Take each piece and make sure the spices are sticking to the fish and add to the skillet. Fry for 3 mins
  • Flip and fry for another 3 mins
  • Ready to serve with your favorite sauce or condiment
